Bill is the founder and primary portfolio manager for Pope Asset Management, LLC. Founded in 2000, Pope Asset Management, LLC is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) offering financial asset management services to high net worth investors.
Bill had previously worked in the Private Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs, where he was a vice-president working primarily with family groups throughout the southeastern United States. Bill had been at Goldman Sachs since his graduation from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1985. Bill attended the University of Mississippi on a National Merit Scholarship and graduated with honors in 1980.
Adeola Ogunsemi is an experienced oil and gas professional with 16 years of industry experience out of his total 20 years work experience. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Oando Energy Resources, a leading African exploration and production company, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in Canada and has been with the company and its subsidiary for more than 6 years. He was with BP America for 5 years, rising to become Assistant Controller.
Before joining BP America, he worked for Northern Illinois Gas in Chicago, USA, for 4 years, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and Midas International in Chicago, USA.
Adeola obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from DePaul University in Chicago in 2000. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for 16 years. He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) in the USA and an Associate Chartered Accountant in Nigeria.
Mattias joined Plena Group in 2001 and has led teams through origination, due diligence, negotiation and the restructuring of medium to large emerging market enterprises. In 2011, Mattias bought out Plena Group in a management buy-out and has led its growth by continuing to assemble cross border transactions as well as government privatisations in predominantly emerging markets. Mattias has a BA in Corporate Finance and an MBA degree from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland.
Medgat Kumar is the owner and Director of Petro Impex Trade LLP. Petro Impex Trade LLP is a Kazakhstan-based company whose primary activities are trading of crude oil and petroleum products, oil refining and terminals businesses. He is a qualified oil and gas exploration engineer receiving a Master Degree in Engineering from the Kazakh National Technical University in 2002. He worked for Haliburton in Kazakhstan between 2002 and 2007.
Clive has more than 25 years’ finance experience across oil & gas, energy, professional services and financial services industries, mainly working with listed businesses. He joined Tethys in 2013 and became CFO in 2015. Prior to Tethys he was Director of Financial Operations of India focused Essar Infrastructure (comprising Ports and EPC businesses) leading up to IPO on the London Stock Exchange and Essar Energy plc, a FTSE250 integrated oil and gas and power generation business. Prior to Essar he was Divisional Finance Director and Deputy Group Finance Director at Charles Taylor plc, a London Stock Exchange listed professional services business. He qualified as a Chartered accountant with Deloitte & Touche, Australia, before relocating to Deloitte London where he was a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Practice.
